watched a good year

Some days ago I watched a really good movie.
I have already seen it one time, something about a year ago, and loved it since then.

The movie is called "A Good Year"

Fine fine little film, light hearted, funny and perfect for a spring and summer night.
Of course the spring here is still letting us wait for it... ;)

The story itself  is really nothing new: guy with a good heart becomes a kind of a bastard when he is grown up, finds then himself confronted with his old life and gets a good guy again. Oh and there is also kind of a love story involved. ;)

This one little movie, which is not so little at all, if you consider the actors and the one who made the movie: Ridley Scott af "Alien", "Blade Runner" and "Gladiator" fame is the director, Russel Crowe the main character (the two of the obviosuly have a good going with each other ;) ), and there are a lot of other famous actors in it too, is so nicely filmed and so beautifully presented. And this love story is really touching, you can feel with the characters and understand them. And it is really funny too. The English vs. the French and vice versa: a love-hate story. ;)
Go see it, and you know what I mean. ;)

I doubt that a lot of people have seen this movie or heard of it, I really don't know why, but obviously it was kind of a failure at the box office and also failed the critics...

Which is so sad, and I really don't understand this. I would really recommend to see this movie!
The director and the actors really knew what they were doing and they did it really well, you can see that they are having fun and feel the characters and make you root for them, which is not at all a matter of course, when you see some of the really bad big blockbuster movies... Not that they are all bad, I also love a good blockbuster movie, if the story is right.

Which leads me back to the story: the love story is not only about a woman, but life itself, love of life and of one's self and happiness.
I also really loved the score, the soundtrack of a perfect summer day.

Red Roses

for my Valentine

Ich liebe diesen Duft von Jo Malone!

Und finde es einen der schönsten reinen Rosendüfte, die es gibt.

Generell bin ich ein grosser Fan von Jo Malone Düften und Kerzen und bin sehr darüber froh, dass wir in Wien einen Shop haben und ich habe dort in letzter Zeit sehr viel gekauft. ;)

Meine derzeitigen Lieblinge sind die Intense Cologne Oud & Bergamot und Rose Water & Vanilla. Die beiden lassen sich auch wunderbar miteinander kombinieren und ergänzen auch den Red Roses Duft sehr gut.
Ich finde dieses Konzept des Duft-Layerings und -kombinierens sehr interessant und finde es spannend mit Düften herumzuspielen um dann einen individuellen Duft zu erschaffen.


Ich freue mich schon sehr auf die neuen Colognes "London Blooms", die im Frühling, voraussichtlich im März rauskommen werden:

White Lilac & Rhubarb, Peony & Moss und Iris & Lady Moore.

Ich bin sehr gespannt darauf die auszuprobieren, sie klingen sehr interessant.

Und ich freue mich sehr auf das Plum Blossoms Cologne, das später erscheinen wird, voraussichtlich im späten Frühling, Anfang Sommer, leider habe ich dzu keine genaueren Infos, und hoffe, dass ich bald mehr darüber erfahren werde.

and if that's not enough I also moved recently and still am struggling with the furniture and boxes ;)
so far the boxes have won and the furniture partially isn't even there yet ;)
maybe I should do it like Spongebob and Patrick and just sit in one of them and use my imagination??? ;)

thanks a lot to my darling Lillith for a nice afternoon, next time we have to spend the whole day chatting and strolling through the city, I will show you even more secret places. ;)

watched The Devil Wears Prada yesterday evening again and thought, funny, how I find everything familiar... ;)
a lot of that also happens in my company with my boss
and I sometimes find myself in similar situations... lol

Watched: The Jacket + Stieg Larsson

I saw a really amazing movie: The Jacket
I never heard of it before I saw it, and I am so glad I did not turn the TV off.
This is some powerful stuff and must be one of the best movies I've seen in the last time.
It is quite strange and disturbing but amazing, and also visually exceptional. And also very emotional, I was really sucked into it, and in some scenes I really felt emotional and uncomfortable. Or I just FELT. I think you have to see it to know what I mean. ;)
It is hard to describe, and maybe this film is not for everyone. The critics were also quite mixed, but if you are into that kind of stuff, you will like it and realize the message of it. It is spiritual...
Once again I also realized that Adrien Brody is an amazing actor. Keira Knightley I also like very much, she was quite different in this film. They both definetely had some vibes going on, and you felt the connection, they carried it out very well.
The end almost made me cry, not because it was sad, which it somehow was, but because it was so touching. *sigh*


Also watched the Stieg Larsson Millennium Trilogy this weekend, but so far only part 1 and 2. I watched in German: Verblendung und Verdammnis. Vergebung is the third, and I'll watch it in the next days, can't await...
Oh man, this is also some powerful stuff, also one of the best things I've seen in the last time. I have to read the books also.

habe gerade beim lesen von Emily van der Hells blog einen lustigen tag entdeckt.
ich wurde zwar nicht selbst getaggt, aber finde ihn dennoch sehr nett und mache da einfach spontan mit. :D

bullet for my valentine

also gestern war ja Valentinstag.
irgendwie war es ein komischer tag und ist bei mir eher unspektakulär verlaufen. um nicht zu sagen, merkwürdig... ;) die arbeit ist schon lustig.
und ich hab mich nicht mal geschminkt. :/

aber am abend waren wir schön essen, das war echt fein. :)

ich muss schon sagen, ich finde, diese ganzen feiertage sind etwas überbewertet.
es ist auch möglich ohne so einen "druck von außen" eine schöne zeit zu haben und z.b. mit seinem partner/gefährten etwas zu unternehmen.

ich hab jeden tag valentinstag wenn man es genau nimmt. ;)
